Nuts in Dutch nutrition guide
The tastiest advice is to eat a minimum of 15 gram unsalted nuts per day.
According to the Dutch Health Council, there is researched evidence that eating a handful of nuts per day lowers the risk heart and vascular disease. This is because nuts lowers the bad LDL-cholesterol levels. It does not matter whether you eat walnuts, hazelnuts or cashew nuts. Also peanuts, officially a legume, are included in the advice. Many people think that peanuts contain more fat compared to other nuts, however they contain less calories than for example walnuts and pecan nuts. Other nuts however do contain nutrition that do not, or in lower levels, appear in peanuts. Mixing of nuts is the advice!
